PhotoKit is a macOS desktop application for professional photo management. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data the App Collects

PhotoKit runs entirely on your Mac. The app:

• Reads photo files and their metadata (EXIF, IPTC, XMP) on your local file system for organizing and editing
• Does not transmit any photo data, filenames, or directory structures off your device
• Does not use analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind
• Does not require an account or login

AI Analysis (Optional)

PhotoKit offers optional AI-powered photo analysis. When enabled, image data may be sent to the AI provider you configure (e.g., local Ollama, OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini). PhotoKit does not operate its own AI service. Each provider's own privacy policy governs their handling of your data.

Payment Processing

When you purchase PhotoKit, payment is processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. During checkout, Stripe collects:

• Email address
• Payment card information
• Billing address (if required by your card issuer)

This information is collected and processed by Stripe under their own Privacy Policy. We receive your email address and a confirmation of payment from Stripe, but we do not receive or store your full card details.

Data We Store

We may retain the following information from your purchase:

• Email address (for license delivery and purchase receipts)
• Transaction ID and purchase date

We do not sell, share, or use this information for marketing purposes.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. Stripe's checkout may use cookies necessary for payment processing.

Third-Party Services

The only third-party service we use is Stripe for payment processing. No other third-party services receive data from us or from the app.

Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
